If you want to get real close to a koala and you are in the neighbourhood, you can visit the "Zoo" near Lemon Tree Passage. It is a place mainly visited by children, and a lot of interaction between man and animal is possible. When a guide is present at the koala house you are allowed to enter the house and stand next to the koalas. This way you can see various cuddly koalas in a small area.
