The Lisbon Zoo was fairly reconstructed for the Expo several years ago. The result is a real nice Zoo that is lying on a hill. You can walk through the park, but you can also have yourself transported there. The zoo is large and a lot of interesting animals are shown. We think the various species of monkeys are quite impressive! But of course we visited the zoo to see the koalas living there. As far as we know 4 koalas live in the park, each of them having its own place. Two koalas can always be observed, they are in a place behind glass, another one only comes out when the wheather is good (outdoor place) and one has its own - hidden to the outside world - room.
The best thing to do it so go to the zoo in summer time, on a sunny day and wait for the koala to go outdoors! It is magnificent!
The Zoo in general is well worth a visit!
